Auction: Ryan Field Architectural Line Print - Print #1
Own the very first print.
This exclusive auction offers the opportunity to own Print No. 1 of the limited edition Ryan Field Architectural Line Print collection, a one-of-a-kind piece celebrating the historic home of Northwestern Football.
For nearly a century, Ryan Field stood as the home of Northwestern Wildcats football and one of college football's most distinctive venues. Originally opened in 1926 as Dyche Stadium, the 45,000-seat facility was financed through one of the nation's earliest stadium bond campaigns led by former Evanston mayor and Northwestern business manager William Dyche. It was renamed Ryan Field in 1997 in honor of alumnus and benefactor Patrick G. Ryan.
Ryan Field witnessed generations of unforgettable moments: from Northwestern's 1926 Big Ten Championship in the stadium's inaugural season to the program's remarkable 1995 Big Ten title and Rose Bowl run, which ended nearly five decades without a conference championship. The stadium also hosted memorable victories over college football powerhouses, legendary Homecoming traditions, and countless Saturdays where the"Cardiac 'Cats" thrilled fans with dramatic finishes.
Beyond football, Ryan Field became a landmark on Evanston's North Shore. Its iconic concrete towers, intimate setting, and lakefront atmosphere made it one of the Big Ten's most recognizable venues. After nearly 100 years of Wildcats history, the original stadium was demolished in 2024, closing a chapter that connected generations of students, alumni, athletes, and fans before a new Ryan Field rose in its place. This auction is for Print No. 1 of 1926 (for reasons all Wildcat fans know) the very first print produced in the series, making it the most coveted print available.
